NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS

2016 East Nipissing Official Plan Review

TAKE NOTICE that the East Nipissing Planning Board will hold public meetings in association with local municipalities in order to consider revisions to the East Nipissing Official Plan pursuant to the requirements of Section 26 (3) of the Planning Act, RSO 1990, as amended. The Schedule and Agenda is as follows:

Public Meetings:

  • Wednesday, April 20, 6:00 pm, Municipality of Calvin, Municipal Office Council Chambers,1355 Peddlers Drive
  • Wednesday, April 20, 8:00 pm, Township of Papineau Cameron, Municipal Hall, 4861 Highway 17, Mattawa
  • Thursday, April 21, Municipality of Mattawan, 7:00 pm – Municipal Hall, Highway 533

 

Sessions will include an opening presentation by the consultant followed by discussions with participants on topics including: Sustainable Rural Development, Renewable Energy Systems, Healthy and Safe Communities; and Creating Economic Development Opportunities.

The public is welcome to make suggestions on improvements or changes that may be made to the Official Plan and their vision for the future of the planning area.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The East Nipissing Planning Board is undertaking a review of its Official Plan as required by the Planning Act. As part of the review, Planning Board is seeking input from the public on revisions that may be required to the Plan. Examples include: growth management and the distribution of development in rural areas, the designation of lands for residential, commercial, industrial and waterfront development as well as the stewardship of natural resources (i.e. mineral aggregates, wetlands, wildlife and fish habitat, forestry etc.). Changes to the Official Plan are required to be consistent with the 2014 Provincial Policy Statement and must also comply with the Growth Plan for Northern Ontario. Submissions by email, fax and through the municipal websites is also accepted. A statutory public meeting under the requirements of Section 17 of the Planning Act will be held early in the summer (date to be determined) to present the proposed amendments to the Plan and will provide a further opportunity for public input. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION related to the review of the East Nipissing Official Plan is available during regular office hours at all three municipal offices.

Intention to Pass a By-Law

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PAPINEAU-CAMERON

INTENTION TO PASS THREE (3) BY-LAWS

Notice Number 2

Notice is hereby given under the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c 25, as amended, that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Papineau-Cameron intends to adopt the following by-laws regarding the abandoned CP Rail Corridor at its Regular Council meeting on May 24, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

All Three By-Laws pertain to;

LOT 1-35, CON A, in the geographic Township of Cameron (formerly Township # 2);

LOT 1-10, CON A, in the geographic Township of Cameron (formerly Township # 3);

LOT 11-15, CON A, in the geographic Township of Papineau (formerly Township #3).

Being a By-Law to enter into an “Asset Donation Agreement” between the Corporation of the County of Renfrew, the Corporation of the County of Lanark, the Corporation of the Township of Papineau-Cameron, and the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, to acquire the abandoned railway corridor between Smith Falls, Ontario and Mattawa, Ontario from the Canadian Pacific Railway Company

Being a By-Law to enter into a “Lease Agreement” between the Corporation of the County of Renfrew, the Corporation of the County of Lanark, the Corporation of the Township of Papineau-Cameron, and the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, for the lease of properties located between Smith Falls, Ontario and Mattawa, Ontario from the Canadian Pacific Railway Company

Being a By-Law to enter into a “Co-Owners Agreement” between the Corporation of the County of Renfrew, the Corporation of the County of Lanark, the Corporation of the Township of Papineau-Cameron, for the long-term management of the CP Rail abandoned corridor
